About the atoll

What Seenu is for, and what it isn't.

Seenu, better known as Addu Atoll, is the southernmost administrative atoll of the Maldives. It has its own international airport at Gan, built by the British during the Second World War and later converted for civilian use. The atoll is closer to the equator than it is to Male.

There are no resorts on the Velara list here. Seenu is a local island atoll with guesthouses, surf breaks, and a network of roads that connect the inhabited islands. The shipwreck dives off Gan are some of the most interesting in the country, and the atoll has a distinct character shaped by its British military history that sets it apart from the rest of the Maldives.
