What Gnaviyani is for, and what it isn't.
Gnaviyani is the southernmost atoll before the equator, and it consists of a single island: Fuvahmulah. There are no resort islands here. Fuvahmulah is a local island with guesthouses, a working harbour, and a way of life that has not changed much for the traveller trade.
The atoll is a whale shark hotspot in its own right, with sightings that rival South Ari during the right season. We do not list any resorts here, but Fuvahmulah is worth mentioning for guests who want to experience the Maldives outside the resort bubble.
